STOP, DROP & ROLL

… your damn feet out. The benefits are undeniable.

I have repeatedly recommended for anyone experiencing lower body pain to roll out their feet daily. From personal experience, the relief it has brought not only to my feet, arches and plantar fasciitis, but to my ankles, calves, achilles, shins, knees and even hips has been substantial. It has become such a vital part of my morning ritual that on the days I forget, I experience intolerable discomfort immediately as I move my body.

Side note: I made morning ritual sound way too fancy - I keep a T Spheres Dragonfly Yoga ball on my bathroom floor (but a tennis ball or racket ball would suffice) and use it during the ten glamorous minutes I spend in the bathroom at 5am while I’m standing there anyway washing my face and brushing my teeth, etc.


It was not until recently though, that I became aware of the hormone-balancing benefits. According to Chinese medicine, our feet absorb all of our bodies energy throughout the day and determine the functional flow. Rolling out certain points in the foot can open up the energy source to different parts of our body; including the adrenal gland and thyroid gland. When energy and blood flow is moving freely through us, our hormones are balanced and our bodies thrive in harmony; but when we are blocked we run the risk of illness and injury. My livelihood is contingent on the capabilities of an active, healthy and balanced body so this is how I roll (my feet out).
